2016 Toyota Corolla Redesign

Corolla Sedan is one of the best selling vehicles from Toyota’s car line-up, which was originally produced back in 1966. Even the first generation achieved great sales results and put the Corolla onto the list of most-wanted sedans. In 1997 this model was the bestselling car in the entire world. This trend continued with following generations and nothing less is expected from the 2016 Toyota Corolla. However, due to the fact that Japanese manufacturer just recently (for 2014MY) redesigned the popular sedan, we do not expect any significant changes with the upcoming, 2016, model.

Previous model featured only small equipment revision, and nothing bigger tan that is expected with the upcoming 2016 Toyota Corolla. Exterior changes may include few additional features for trim levels, and, most likely additional equipment package which will be focused on style and features regarded to the exterior look. Beside some details 2016 Corolla’s exterior will receive few more color choices to refresh the overall appearance.

Trim levels will be carried over, and we will be able to choose between L, LE, LE Eco and S. Standard base equipment includes LED headlights and day time running lights, full power accessories, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel with mounted controls, climate control, Bluetooth connectivity (phone and audio) as well as sound system with 4 speakers, CD player, a USB/iPod interface and an AUX input.

The performance of the 2016 Toyota Corolla will stay the same as before. It will be avaialbe with pone powertrain and two different outputs. The power 2016 Corolla produces, depends on trim level, so beside features, trims influence the fuel consumption and overall power.

Available engine is a 1.8-liter four-cylinder with base output of 132 horsepower and 128 pound-feet of torque. Packed under the hood of a fuel saving LE-Eco trim the engine delivers 140 hp and 126 lb-ft of torque. Transmission choices also vary from trim to trim. Base version, L, includes 6-speed manual (standard) and 4-speed automatic (optional). Beside base L, all other trims come with a CVT as standard. S trim includes 6-speed manual transmission into the offer as optional, while CVT remains standard for this trim level too.

Base engine version (with 132 hp) paired with automatic transmission returns 27/36/31 mpg city/hwy/combined, while with the manual transmission it consumes the same in combined ride, but delivers a mile more in the city and on the hwy. Packed with a CVT it get even higher rates, and offers 29/38/32 mpg city/hwy/combined. Fuel saving LE-Eco trim with more power (140 hp) returns 30/42/35 mpg city/hwy/combined.

The arrivals of the 2016 Toyota Corolla is not expected before summer 2015, and its sales is expected to start late on the same year. Pricing specs are not revealed yet, although there is a small chance for any change in that segment. The level of changes is pretty low for Toyota to boost Corolla’s price. Expect it to rate from $17,000 approximately and up to  $20,000 for top trim S.
