2016 Toyota Aygo Changes, Price

The upcoming 2016 Toyota Aygo will be pretty much the same as its predecessor, with few new tweaks that will keep this city car competitive and up-to-date. The Aygo model is primarily designed for European customers, and Toyota started its production back in 2005. Current, 2015 Aygo, is first model of the second generation. The name of the model symbolizes “freedom and mobility” and it came from compound “i-go”. Now, let’s review the 2016 Toyota Aygo specs:

With styling changes made on previous mode, new Aygo will be offered in the same form as recently redesigned forerunner. New colors and new interior features will be available for the 2016 Toyota Aygo, but other than that, it will be the same. This city car is available in five trims and offers 2 equipment packages, including X-tra Premium and X-tra Convenience. Aygo trim levels include base X, X-play, X-pression, X-cite, and X-clusiv.

Some of the features found on the base X trim include 14-inch steel wheels, projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, ABS (Anti-lock Brake System), VSC (Vehicle Stability Control), HAC (Hill Assist Control), power windows, and audio system with 2 speakers with AUX and USB connectivity.

The optional packages include Leather upholstery, Smart Entry & Push-button start in the X-tra Premium pack, and automatic climate control, dusk-sensing headlights, Smart Entry & push-button start in the X-tra Convenience.

Upper trims add valuable features which, among other, include 7″ touch screen multimedia system, bigger wheels, and specific design details.

Under the hood of the 2016 Aygo, Japanese manufacturer offers only one engine choice and two transmission version that could be mated to this power unit. The engine is a 1.0-liter in-line-3 12-valve DOHC, chain drive with VVT-i. It delivers 68 horsepower and 70 lb-ft of torque. Its acceleration time from zero to 62 mph is 14,2 seconds.

Since the Aygo is made for city ride, it is not unusual that its fuel economy rates are higher than average ones. This small car is capable to deliver 47 mpg in the city, 65 mpg on the highway and 57 mpg in combined ride.

The new Toyota Aygo is not expected before late this year, or even early on next. Even though the price and release specs are not announced by the manufacturer yet, these prognoses are based on reports from several reliable sources. The price range will stay the same as for previous model, with possibility for some minor increases. Expect 2016 Aygo price range to start from $12,000 and go up to $17,000.
