2016 Scion iM hatchback specs

Even though we had a chance to see concept version of the 2016 Scion iM model, the production edition is far less glamorous. It is based on the Toyota Auris, which is present on European market since 2012. Scion’s 2016 iM debuted at the 2015 New York Auto Show. Beside the iM, the Scion also presented its 2016 iA sedan, which will be reviewed in separate review.

Even though Toyota decided to tone down the Concept version, 2016 Scion iM still is very attractive five door hatchback. It exterior is very similar to Auris’s, but has more modern edges. Lower grill is in trapezoidal shape, and overall front fascia is decorated with gloss-black details. 17-inch wheels, body-colored door handles, and LED daytime running lights are also part of standard packaging.

Interior is also greatly designed, with great materials as well. Seats are upholstered in cloth, and overall dash layout is simple and easy to use, yet modern and highly equipped. 2016 Scion iM standard features include power folding mirrors, two-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a rearview camera, steering wheel wrapped in leather and power doors and locks. Tech features include Pioneer sound system, 7-inch touchscreen with Toyota’s Entune system, Bluetooth connection, a 4.2-inch TFT display behind the steering-wheel.

Besides all this, new Scion iM comes with numerous safety features, as well as with pet-friendly environment, which will be important for families with pets.
