Visible changes on new Lexus ES will affect mainly its front end. The easiest and most common changes in automotive market affect the front part of the vehicle, with changes which are not expensive or difficult, but make a significant impact on the overall look of the model. However, the upcoming ES sedan will feature redesigned grill, as well as reshaped headlights. Further changes on the front end may include some detail’s alterations, such as bumper change and turn signals. New colors will also be available.

Inside we can expect few features’ revisions. This will include couple of new ones added on the list of standards, and upgrades of the existing ones. Other than that Lexus could add some new interior trims, and better materials for upholstery. 2016 Lexus ES will continue to be available in two trim levels, including base and Crafted Line, as well as in regular (350) and hybrid (300h) variants.

2016 Lexus ES performance and mpg

It is unlikely that Lexus will changes things under the hood for its 2016 ES model. In fact, the performance will probably stay the same, as for previous models, while changes in this segment could be expected with arrivals of the new generation. For the moment, here is what we can expect from the 2016 Lexus ES performance:

The 3.5-liter V6 engine that cranks out 268 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque remains the only engine option. It comes combined with front-wheel drive and 6-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy rates of the 2016 Lexus ES 350 with V6 engine will be the same as before, meaning it will be rated at 21/31/24 mpg city/hwy/combined.

The 300h version will have hybrid system which combines a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and an electric motor.  Combined output of upcoming Lexus ES 300h will be around 200 horsepower. This power will be transmitted to the front wheels via ECVT-i. Fuel economy is better, of course, than the regular 350, meaning it will return 40 mpg in the city and in combined ride, and a mile less on the highway.
